11/22/09 Our Fall Concert!
Fall quarter has flown by! Come see all we've accomplished this quarter at our Fall Concert: Beat Gives Back, The 2nd Annual Best A Cappella Show Ever! It will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd, Price Center East Ballroom, at 8:00 PM. This year, The Beat wants to give back to the community in time for the Holidays! Our goal is to collect at least 200 non-perishable food items too donate to the San Diego Food Bank. Please help our cause by bringing a non-perishable food item and enjoy a GREAT concert featuring San Diego's Best a cappella groups, The Beat, The DOTS, Frequency, Tritones, and SDSU Sunset Clefs!
10/20/09 Our first performance of the year!
Come to our first performance of the year this Saturday, October 24! We will be performing on campus at ERC, Revelle and Muir for UCSD's Annual Family Day! Come join us in ERC at 10:10 AM, Revelle at 10:55 AM, and Muir at 12:20 PM. See you there!

9/28/09: Audition Locations and Walk-Ins!
Auditions on Thursday October 1st will be held at Center 217A.
Auditions on Friday October 2nd AND Saturday October 3rd will be held at Center 207.
Walk-Ins! Sign ups are full! If you are still interested in trying out, come by to auditions and we'll do our best to fit you in. If you would like to audition on Thursday, please arrive between 8:30-10:00 PM. If you would like to audition on Friday, please arrive between 7:00-10:30 PM. If you would like to audition on Saturday, please arrive between 9:00 AM-7:30 PM. Thanks, we hope to see you there!

It's that time of year again! The Beat is holding auditions for our 2009-2010 a cappella group! Auditions will be held from Thursday October 1 to Saturday October 3, 2009 at a location TBA. Callbacks will be held the next day. Please be prepared to sing a verse and a chorus from a song of your choice, the Star Spangled Banner (lyrics provided), and a couple of vocal exercises like sight reading and scales. If you love music, love to sing, or just love meeting new people and having a great time, please sign up online at www.acaspot.com/audition. 6/10/09: End of an Era :(
It's been an unforgettable year for the Beat. Thanks to everyone who's supported us by coming to all of our events and concerts. Our spring extravaganza "The Real World: Beat USA" went down without a hitch! Check out new photos on the Photos and Music page! We were also lucky enough to produce our first professional CD.
